If you need a pan for universal use, a classic deep pan will suffice. You can also choose one of the specialized pans such as wok, grill or pancake pans. It is also important to pay attention to the choice of material from which the pan is made, its size and whether it is suitable for your type of hob, whether you have induction, gas or glass ceramic.

Pan type - based on use, you have a choice of 4 types of pans:

Classic pan - deeper pan, universal use.
Wok - a special deep frying pan used in Asian cuisine, its advantages will be appreciated especially on gas hobs, when the ingredients will be heated not only from below, but also from the sides.
Grilling pan - a pan designed for preparing steaks, the pans are heavier and have a serrated surface.
For pancakes - they have a low edge, making flipping pancakes or fritters much easier.

Material - Pans are most often made of stainless steel or aluminum due to the good heat conductivity of these materials. The surface of the pan should preferably be made of non-stick material. The most common surface materials are:

Teflon and other non-stick surfaces (PTFE) - you can fry on them without preparing fat, but they are not scratch-resistant.
Ceramic - non-stick surface (however, you cannot cook completely without fat), scratch-resistant.
Titanium - non-stick surface, good heat conductivity, scratch resistance.
Cast iron - durable and highly durable, with proper care it will last you a lifetime. This type of pan withstands high temperatures and distributes heat evenly.
