The 800 ml carafe is designed for personal use and comes with a glass that stores neatly on top until you need it. It is ideal for use on your desk or even on your bedside table. It also comes with a handy natural cork coaster and includes one binchotan activated carbon filter (6 month life) to keep your tap water tasting great!

WHY CHARCOAL FOR WATER FILTRATION?
Charcoal works like activated carbon by attracting negative ions of impurities such as chlorine and binding them to its surface. In Japan, it has been used to purify and soften water for centuries.
HOW TO USE CHARCOAL TO FILTER WATER?
Binchotan charcoal can be used immediately - just take it out of its packaging and put it in any bottle or jug. Once filled with water, you will notice an improvement in taste after about an hour.
HOW LONG DOES THE FILTER LAST?
When used daily to filter 800 ml of water, each stick lasts approximately 3 months. You can then "recharge" the charcoal stick by placing it in boiling water for 10 minutes. This process reactivates the charcoal, removes the impurities that have built up on its surface and can filter water for another 3 months.
WHAT TO DO IF THE CHARCOAL BREAKS?
The charcoal will work even if it breaks. However, if you prefer to buy another one, you can still use the broken pieces in many different ways. For example, adding activated charcoal to a bowl of fruit can keep it fresh longer.Binchotan charcoal also helps release minerals like potassium into the drinking water, so in the same way it can help plants absorb other nutrients from the soil to keep them healthy and green. Simply break it up and add it to the soil.
